Our location enabled us to get an up-close view of the talented performers who included Ms. Rosa Lee playing the Guzheng, Ms. Janice Liu playing the Erhu, Mr. John Cosma displaying his martial arts skills, as well as students from the Stellar Acrobatic Dance Academy.

We were also treated to a surprise visit from Mr. Justin Bibb, Cleveland’s New Mayor, and, of course, a lion dance was performed by the Kwan Family.

Throughout the day, old friends stopped by to say hello including Mr. John Louie, the former owner of Asia Plaza who has known Ms. [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] for nearly forty years.

Among the other organizations that tabled was the Cleveland Public Library represented by Mr. Milos Markovic, Manager of the Downtown International Languages Department, who offered tangerines to all who wanted one.

Mr. Markovic told us that he had learned that tangerines are a Lunar New Year tradition symbolizing abundance, happiness, and prosperity and the Cleveland Public Library wanted everyone to share in the good fortune.
