Ke Huy Quan’s Oscars win was a defining moment for the celebration of the value of acceptance and diversity.
Ke Huy Quan, born in Vietnam into a family of Chinese descent, won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for Everything Everywhere All at Once. In his acceptance speech, Quan said, “My journey started on a boat. I spent a year in a refugee camp, and somehow, I ended up here, on Hollywood’s biggest stage. They say stories like this only happen in the movies – I cannot believe it is happening to me. This is the American Dream!”
