2021 State of the Court Luncheon

On Friday, October 1st, we accompanied several of our colleagues to the Cleveland Hilton Downtown where we attended the 15th Annual 2021 State of the Court Luncheon for which Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC was one of the sponsors.

The event was put on by the Federal Bar Association Northern Ohio Chapter (FBA-NDOH) which is “committed to strengthening the federal legal system and administration of justice by serving the interests and needs of the federal practitioner, both public and private, the federal judiciary and the public they serve.”

During the luncheon, chapter officers for 2021-2022 and the Board of Directors was sworn in. We also heard from Chief Judge Mary Ann Whipple from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and Chief Judge Patricia A. Gaughan from the U.S. District Court about how their courts successfully adjusted to Covid-19 safety precautions and became operational after a minimum down time.

After her address, Judge Gaughan swore in the Hon. Amanda Knapp, who was joined on stage by her husband and children, as a new U.S. Magistrate Judge. After the ceremony, Judge Knapp thanked her fellow jurists for giving her their trust.

For sure, it was a poignant moment as it was when Mr. Aaron Bulloff, now retired, was given a Lifetime Service Award for his consistent involvement with the FBA over the course of his career.
