ICE Deportations: Gender, Age, and Country of Citizenship
TRAC Immigration, a data analysis project at Syracuse University, has released statistics on the gender, age, and country of origin of deportees from 2012 and 2013. The overwhelming majority of deportees are male: 94% of all deportees in 2012 were male and 93% in 2013. Deportees are also relatively young, the median age is 30 and just about half are between the ages of 15 and 29. Mexican citizens were by far the largest group of deportees, accounting for 69.5% in 2012 and 65.5% in 2013. Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic rounded out the top 5 countries of origin for deportees. Read more about deportee demographics here.
