B-1 & B-2 Visas Now 10 Years; F-1, F-2, J-1, J-2, and M-1 and M-2 Now Five Years

As we reported last week, the agreement between Obama and Chinese Premier Xi Jinping to extend non-immigrant visas is taking effect immediately.  The "Revised Reciprocity Schedule for China" means no longer will foreign born tourists, students and employees leaving the US have to wait long hours and pay the State Department fees in order to return. Subject: Revised Reciprocity Schedule for China

1. Effective immediately, the reciprocity schedule for Chinese nationals is revised for the B-1, B- 2, B-1/B-2, F-1, F-2, J-1, J-2, M-1, and M-2 nonimmigrant visa (NIV) categories. All other visa validities for nationals of China will remain unchanged. Please note the changes (old figures in parenthesis):
