Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce 2022 Award Luncheon

On Thursday, January 27th, we drove to Painesville Township Park to attend the Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce’s 2022 Awards Luncheon.

We got to say hello to a lot of people that we hadn’t seen in almost two years like Mr. Chris Trombley and Mr. Bob Fratino both from Deepwood Industries and Mr. David Komjati from KeyBank.

We also visited with Ms. Victoria Southworth who works in the field of personnel services. Ms. Southworth told us that she remembered meeting Ms. [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] a number of years ago when Ms. Wong spoke at Human Resources Star Conferences on topics relating to workers who had immigrated to the United States.

The stirring invocation that showed respect for all faiths was delivered by Bishop Gerard Mirbel, Senior Pastor of the Miracle Revival Ministry Assemblies of God Church who is from Haiti.

Those receiving honors were West Orchards Farm Market (i.e. a fifth-generation family enterprise that has existed since 1891 in Perry Township) named 2022 Business of the Year and the Lake County Free Clinic (i.e. now in its 51st year) received the 2022 Beacon Award.

We were most grateful to Ms. Kelly Donahue, Executive Director of the Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce, for arranging for us to have a special dietary meal and when it became time to eat lunch we shared a table with several local high school students as well as persons involved with the Torchlight Youth Mentoring Alliance.

Among the students was a very promising young man named Katory Henry-Shaw who will soon be attending Cornell University on a football scholarship.

A budding entrepreneur, Mr. Henry-Shaw has already started his own small business named “KJ’s Acrylic Designs” which sells artwork that he, himself, crafted.
