Cleveland-Bratislava Sister Cities Holiday Party

On Wednesday evening, December 1st, we went attended the Cleveland-Bratislava Sister Cities, Inc. (CBSC) holiday party that took place at the Burntwood Tavern on Brecksville Road in Brecksville.

Due to Covid-19 and scheduling conflicts, we were unable to attend any of the meetings of this organization for almost two years, so it was great to be able to reconnect with such members as Mr. William Northrup, Ms. Marie Golias, Mr. Andrew Rajec, and Ms. Barb Golias.

Accordingly, we had a good time visiting with each other as well as munching appetizers like zucchini chips, tavern tater tots, and firecracker shrimp.

Along the way, we learned that a young relative of one of the attendees had just been awarded a Ohio Vax-2-School Scholarship.

Ms. [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] also received a sincere compliment for being the recipient of the Cleveland Heritage Medal.

We really hope we can attend at least a couple of the CBSC programs planned for 2022 that include a lecture by Father Michael Brunovsky from St. Andrew Abbey on the history of Slovakia in the post WWII period.
