Cuyahoga County Councilperson Dale Miller's Annual Ice Cream Social
On Wednesday, June 6, our first event was District 2 Cuyahoga County Councilperson Dale Miller's annual ice cream social that always takes place at the Women's Pavilion in Lakewood Park.
As we were signing in, we said "Hello" to Ms. Laura Rodriguez-Carbonne, Vice President of the Young Latino Network whose principals, along with those of MotivAsians, organized a networking event that took place at Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC in the first few months of 2018.
While we were at the event we chatted with Councilperson Miller himself, who told us that our county government is exploring the possibilities of supervised pre-trial release programs for juveniles being held for nonviolent offenses, which might be a good thing because often these young people have been kept in jail for months awaiting their trials.
We briefly talked about immigration matters and Ms. Carol Miller, the wife of the Councilperson, told us she was appalled by the conditions in the holding facilities wherein the children of the undocumented are being held.
Soon, we had to leave to get to our second event for the day, but on the way out we were told to be sure to note on the sign-in sheet that we were there as representatives of Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC, so that Councilperson Miller, when doing his introductions later, could acknowledge that we were there.
