Chinese Students Career Development Forum
Our second event for Thursday was a stop off at the newly opened "Midtown Tech Hive" on Euclid Avenue where we sat in on a "Chinese Students Career Development Forum" put on by the Greater Cleveland Chinese Chamber of Commerce (GCCCC) in order "to provide Chinese students with opportunities to practice important career development skills."
Due to the weather, we arrived a little late but we still managed to catch most of an excellent presentation by Ms. Kim Kirkendall, President of "International Development, Inc." regarding proper preparation and proper conduct during job interviews.
This was followed by a brief but well-organized talk about H1B visa procedures by Ms. Su He, immigration attorney and Executive Director of the GCCCC.
Later in the program there would be mock job interviews, speed networking, and socializing.
While we were there, we visited with Ms. Sheila Liu, Chinese Admission Associate and University Placement at the "Grand River Academy" in Austinburg which we visited as participants in an outing organized by the Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce.
Before we left, we also visited with Ms. Anna Buchholz, the Manager of the "Midtown Tech Hive" which is a neighborhood innovative center and co-working space which we believe to be a very inspiring environment.
