Coffee Contacts: Unusual Retirement Party

IMG_5847.JPG

On Wednesday, February 28th, we got up early to drive to Geneva to attend an Eastern Lake County "Coffee Contact" that was held at "Rapid Photo" on North Broadway.

While we were there, Mr. Pam Zack, the owner of "Rapid Photo", told us the story of how she and her husband, Mr. Rick Zack, acquired the photography studio in the early 1990's and how the business has grown since that time. Mr. Zack, himself, showed us some beautiful work that he had done lately via a process called "light painting photography".

From Mr. Ryan Whepley, the Branch Manager at the Geneva Public Library, we learned about special a retirement party that the library is giving on the afternoon of March 10th for Crash, its feline mascot for the past 13 years. A favorite of all who have visited the library, Crash is estimated to be 18 years old and initially came to the establishment as a stray.

Mr. Whepley said that Crash was not adopted by the library staffers however; instead, he adopted them.

Crash mainly likes to sleep now so a good home has been chosen for him where he will have plenty of time to do just that and will be well-cared for during his final days.
