29th Annual Egyptian Festival at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church
On Friday evening, August 25th and all day on Saturday, August 26th, we tabled at the 29th Annual Egyptian Festival at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church just as we have at this festival for the past several years.
To be sure, we were warmly welcomed by Father Mikhail and Father David and our good friend Mr. Samy Tanious from C.A.M.E.O. (who worships here) stopped by on several occasions to make sure we were doing all right. Likewise, Ms. Madeline Agaibi, the church manager, expressed appreciation that we were tabling there because she has great respect for Ms. Margaret W. Wong.
Along these lines, we tabled next to the "Health and Wellness" table staffed by Dr. Sherif Mossad who told us that Ms. Wong had helped his mother and father when they immigrated to the U.S. from Egypt just a few years ago.
To be sure, during the weekend our table was also visited by several people who would like to help their relatives living in Egypt (or other Middle East countries) immigrate to the United States.
In addition, we enjoyed chatting with two guys named Steve. The first Steve immigrated to the U.S. from Greece many years prior and thus already read Ms. Wong's book "The Immigrant's Way" and really liked it while the second Steve had helped several people immigrate to the U.S. from Eastern Europe. In this case, Steve II hadn't read Ms. Wong's book yet so we gave him a copy.
