David Jovan Calevski joined Margaret Wong & Assoc LLC in April of 2016 as an Immigration Attorney. David began his undergraduate work at The Ohio State University and after 3 years in Columbus he took a position working as a bailiff at the Canton Municipal Court. While working full time, David completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Akron, majoring in English.
David pursued a legal education in Jacksonville at the Florida Coastal School of Law. During his time at Florida Coastal, David spent a semester studying Human Rights and Criminal Law at University College London, UK. Upon earning his law degree in 2006, David returned home to Northeast Ohio and spent the first 9 years of his legal career as Staff Counsel and then General Counsel to a large, privately owned, marketing and manufacturing company in Canton, OH. Most of his experience in that role was focused on drafting/negotiating/reviewing contracts, advertising law, managing outside counsel, employment law, and many other in-house generalist matters.
In 2015, David started his own general practice in Canton (Calevski Law, LLC). David helped his clients with most any legal need, but found that much of his work dealt with criminal defense, landlord/tenant, contracts, and business formation. As a child of immigrant parents, David found himself drawn to the practice of immigration law and in April of 2016, David accepted a position with Margaret W. Wong & Associates.
