Celebrating Hispanic Cultural Day in Cleveland
Celebrating Hispanic Cultural Day in Cleveland
On Wednesday, September 30, we had the pleasure of representing Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC at the Hispanic Cultural Day celebration on Mall C, next to Cleveland City Hall.
The event brought together people from across Cleveland to celebrate Hispanic culture, heritage, and community. According to the event poster, attendees could:
“Experience the richness and diversity of all Hispanic culture through live entertainment, traditional foods, art, music, and cultural showcases representing communities across Latin America.”
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage in Cleveland
The City of Cleveland and the Hispanic Heritage Month Committee organized the festivities. In addition, Emily LeBron, the Hispanic Liaison from the Community Relations Board, and her team worked tirelessly to make the celebration a success. Without a doubt, their hard work paid off.
Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed live entertainment, traditional foods, art, music, and cultural showcases highlighting communities from across Latin America. More importantly, the celebration created an opportunity for people to connect with one another and learn more about the diverse cultures that make Cleveland such a vibrant community.
Among the many vendors, we met an especially impressive young entrepreneur named Samy. About a year and a half ago, Samy started her own business, “Chochet With Me, Samy.” She clearly enjoys what she does, and her enthusiasm for entrepreneurship was inspiring to see.
We also learned that Samy and her family immigrated to the United States from Colombia. From our conversation, it was clear that Samy has embraced entrepreneurship and is building something of her own with creativity, determination, and passion.
A Familiar Name at Hispanic Cultural Day
As always, several people stopped by our table to learn more about Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC. One woman, upon seeing our banner, immediately exclaimed:
“Wow, Margaret Wong! Is she still around?”
We assured her that Ms. Wong is certainly “still around”—and remains a powerful force at that.
The woman nodded her head and replied:
“She does a lot of good!”
Her comment captured something we frequently experience when attending community events. People recognize the name Margaret W. Wong, remember the work she has done, and often have a personal story or positive impression to share.
Connecting With Cleveland’s Hispanic Community
Ultimately, Hispanic Cultural Day offered much more than an opportunity to enjoy food, music, art, and entertainment. It brought together Cleveland residents, entrepreneurs, community leaders, organizations, and families in a shared celebration of Hispanic heritage.
For us, the event also provided an opportunity to connect with members of Cleveland’s Hispanic community and introduce more people to Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC.
Most importantly, the celebration reminded us of the value of community, culture, and connection. We were grateful to participate and look forward to continuing our involvement in events that bring Cleveland’s diverse communities together.
