JOSE IS BACK HOME IN THE UNITED STATES
JOSE IS BACK HOME IN THE UNITED STATES

Jose Is Home
After months of uncertainty, detention, and legal work, Jose is finally back in the United States and reunited with his family. ❤️
On April 10, 2026, Jose was wrongfully deported to Honduras. Our team immediately began working to bring him home. We filed a habeas corpus petition in federal court in Washington, D.C.
Fighting to Bring Jose Home
On August 5, a court order brought Jose back to the United States. He was immediately detained after arriving.
His bond was later denied. Jose had received a Notice to Appear (NTA) alleging an Entry Without Inspection (EWI) charge.
The court declined to hear the case because it fell under the jurisdiction of the Fifth Circuit.
But we did not stop fighting.
After weeks of talks and legal work, we reached an agreement to resolve the matter.
Jose Is Released
On September 11, the court dismissed our habeas case in Washington, D.C. Just hours later, we received the news we had been waiting for:
JOSE WAS RELEASED.
Jose left the Port Isabel Detention Center and went to the ICE office in Harlingen. His family was there to pick him up.
Today, Jose is back in the United States. Most importantly, he is back with his family.
More Than a Case
This case reminds us that immigration cases are about more than paperwork and court filings. They are about people, families, and the right to come home.
We are grateful to Attorney Allison Chan, Ayla Blumenthal, Polly Chia-Hsuan Chien, and Paralegals Ana Estrada, Beatriz Gama, and Celene Acuna. Their dedication, persistence, and hard work helped make this outcome possible. ❤️
At Margaret W. Wong & Associates, LLC, we are proud to stand beside our clients and their families — wherever they are and whenever they need us.
