Honoring Cleveland Community Leaders
2026 National Night Out Against Crime at Steelyard Commons
On Tuesday evening, August 4, 2026, we represented Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC at the 2026 National Night Out Against Crime at Steelyard Commons in Cleveland, Ohio.
We have participated in this annual community event for many years and always enjoy being part of it. National Night Out brings together a diverse group of Cleveland residents, community organizations, businesses, and law enforcement agencies with a shared goal: strengthening the relationship between police and the communities they protect and serve.
The evening included special recognition of First Interstate Properties, a longtime sponsor of National Night Out Against Crime, as well as a special award presented to Keith Sulzer, the former Second District Police Commander. Commander Sulzer was instrumental in bringing National Night Out to Cleveland in the early 2010s.
Since 2013, Pastor Nate Ortiz of Spirit Living Church Ministries has served as the event’s emcee. His consistently positive and uplifting presence is greatly appreciated. During the evening, Pastor Ortiz made a point of coming over to our table to warmly greet us, which was especially meaningful.
Connecting With the Cleveland Community
We also enjoyed meeting and talking with the many people who stopped by our table. We handed out free pens and clementines and had the opportunity to hear some fascinating stories from members of the community.
One woman we met was particularly knowledgeable about her family genealogy. She could even pinpoint approximately when her family immigrated to the United States from India nearly a century ago. Conversations like this are one of the things that make community events such as National Night Out so rewarding.
A Message About Public Safety
Among the evening’s speakers was our friend, Ohio State Representative Sean Brennan of District 14. We believe he captured the true spirit of National Night Out when he said:
“At the end of the day, public safety isn’t just about police departments. It’s about respect. It’s about communication. And it’s about neighbors taking pride in their neighborhoods.”
That message reflects what National Night Out is ultimately about: community, communication, mutual respect, and public safety.
We were pleased to once again participate in National Night Out Against Crime in Cleveland and grateful for the opportunity to connect with our neighbors, community leaders, law enforcement representatives, and fellow organizations at Steelyard Commons.
We look forward to participating again next year.
