Family Reunited After 5 Months in ICE Detention Through Persistent Legal Advocacy!
Another family reunited. Another life changed through teamwork, persistence, and dedication.
Our client, originally from Mexico, has lived in the United States for more than 15 years. During that time, he built a loving family, maintained a clean record, and became a valued member of his community. Earlier this year, ICE unexpectedly detained him while his asylum case remained pending.
After the immigration court denied his first bond hearing on jurisdictional grounds, our team continued fighting for his release.
Legal Assistant Beatriz Gama kept in contact with the client in detention and his family to gather the necessary information about the case. Attorney Miriam Kobella prepared and filed a Habeas Corpus petition. Her work helped create the opportunity for a second bond hearing. Attorney Nour Chammas then represented our client at that hearing and successfully secured bond.
Through this team effort, our office obtained our client’s release after five long months in ICE detention. Today, he is reunited with his family and able to return to work while continuing his legal process.
Cases like this remind us why we fight every day for our clients and their families. Immigration matters often require months, and sometimes years, of preparation, persistence, and teamwork before families can finally experience relief and reunification.
