The annual event brought together families, community leaders, and cultural organizations from across Northeast Ohio to celebrate the Lunar New Year with traditional performances, cultural exhibits, and community engagement.

Hosted by OCA Greater Cleveland

The celebration was emceed by Mr. Wayne Wong, Executive Vice President of OCA Greater Cleveland (Organization of Chinese Americans – Greater Cleveland). Guests enjoyed an impressive lineup of dance and musical performances highlighting the heritage, beauty, and creativity of Asian cultures represented throughout the region.

2026: The Year of the Fire Horse

According to community leader Johnny K. Wu, 2026 marks the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese zodiac cycle. Occurring once every 60 years (most recently in 1966), the Fire Horse symbolizes:

• Dynamic energy

• Passion and independence

• Bold transformation

• Courage and renewal

In Chinese astrology, the Fire Horse amplifies vitality with intensity, making it a rare and powerful cycle associated with rapid change and forward momentum.

Silk Road Cultural Collective Debuts at the Festival

One of the highlights of the 2026 celebration was the first-time appearance of the Silk Road Cultural Collective, founded by Johnny K. Wu alongside Mr. Dan Hanson of ClevelandPeople.com and Ms. Annie (Ying) Pu, founder and publisher of the Erie Chinese Journal.

The Silk Road Cultural Collective is dedicated to preserving and celebrating Chinese heritage from the Tang through Ming Dynasties. Their presentations feature:

• Meticulously crafted replica armor exhibitions

• Authentic hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing) showcases

• Dynamic sword demonstrations

• Immersive educational experiences throughout Northeast Ohio

Supporting Immigrant Communities in Cleveland

As part of the festivities, Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC hosted a table to connect with attendees and provide information about immigration services.

During the event, we met Vania, who shared heartfelt gratitude for Ms. Wong’s assistance in helping her and her son immigrate to the United States from Germany in the early 2000s. Stories like hers are a powerful reminder of why we remain committed to serving the foreign-born individuals and families who seek opportunity and a better future in the United States.
