Margaret W. Wong & Associates proudly welcomes Attorneys Polly Chia-Hsuan Chien and Miriam Kobella to the firm. Both attorneys bring extensive experience, international perspectives, and a strong dedication to client advocacy.

Polly Chia-Hsuan Chien Joins the Raleigh Office

Attorney Polly Chia-Hsuan Chien practices immigration law at Margaret W. Wong & Associates and works out of the firm’s Raleigh, North Carolina office. She represents clients across a wide range of immigration matters and draws on a strong background in both legal practice and higher education.

Before joining the firm, Polly worked as an International Scholar Advisor at a flagship state university, where she managed immigrant petitions and visa matters for faculty members and researchers. Earlier in her career, she practiced immigration law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Greenville, North Carolina.

While attending law school, Polly actively participated in the Immigration Law Clinic and provided community legal services through the Jewish Family Center. Born and raised in Taiwan, she came to the United States as an international student majoring in Economic Development. As an immigrant herself, Polly brings personal insight and deep commitment to helping others navigate the U.S. immigration system. Outside of work, she enjoys creating pottery in local art studios and running along the American Tobacco Trail.

Miriam Kobella Brings International and Litigation Experience

Attorney Miriam Kobella also joins Margaret W. Wong & Associates and holds a license to practice law in Mexico. She brings more than 15 years of experience advising clients on a broad range of legal and transactional matters.

Throughout her career, Miriam has handled complex disputes and defaults, successfully resolving disagreements and achieving favorable litigation outcomes. In the United States, she has supported complex toxic tort litigation, focusing on discovery strategy and detailed case preparation. Her international background and litigation experience strengthen the firm’s ability to serve diverse client needs.
