Lithuanian Song Festival Cleveland Brings Music and Culture Together
Cleveland Hosts 2025 Lithuanian Song Festival: A Celebration of Music, Culture, and Community.

On Sunday, June 29, the Cleveland Public Auditorium came alive during the final concert of the 2025 Lithuanian Song Festival. This three‑day celebration, held from June 27–29, marked the 11th time the festival has taken place in North America. Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC proudly sponsored the event, supporting cultural heritage and community connection.
According to the festival website, the scale of the Lithuanian Song Festival Cleveland was truly impressive:
- 65 choirs from the United States, Canada, Lithuania, and across Europe
- More than 1,500 singers, including adults, youth, and children
- 100 folk dancers
- A special folk orchestra from Klaipėda, Cleveland’s sister city
Honoring a Century of Tradition
Baltic song festivals have united communities through music for more than 100 years. Every four to five years, choirs of all ages gather to perform a shared repertoire, celebrating cultural pride, continuity, and connection across generations.
Lithuanian immigrants and refugees carried this tradition to North America. The first festival here, held in 1956, helped preserve Lithuanian identity abroad and inspired international support for Lithuania’s eventual independence in 1991. Events like the Lithuanian Song Festival continue that legacy today.
Why Cleveland Was the Perfect Host?
Cleveland offered an ideal setting for the festival. Its active Lithuanian‑American community has long contributed to the city’s arts, politics, and cultural life. As Case Western Reserve University notes, Cleveland’s Lithuanian population stands out for its civic engagement and dedication to preserving folk art and tradition.

Before the final performance, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb shared a video message recognizing the festival as a powerful symbol of unity and “shared humanity.” The Lithuanian Song Festival Cleveland served as a reminder that music and culture can bring people together across borders, generations, and backgrounds.
