National Volunteer Month: Celebrating Our Team
National Volunteer Month: Honoring Our Team’s Community Champions
April marked National Volunteer Month, a time to recognize team members who go above and beyond to serve their communities. Throughout the year, their dedication reflects our firm’s shared commitment to service, compassion, and meaningful impact.
We want to acknowledge those whose volunteer efforts make a difference in people’s lives. Whether through mentoring, organizing events, offering pro bono support, or simply showing up when help is needed, these actions embody the spirit of volunteerism.
Everyday Service Making a Big Impact
Our HR team member Kathy quietly makes a meaningful impact through consistent service. She collects and donates cans to the local fire department, where they are recycled to raise funds for burn victims. In addition, she assists with transporting homeless pets to rescue organizations and new homes, giving them a second chance.
Our paralegal Purva also dedicates her time to volunteer efforts that support both people and animals, reflecting a strong personal commitment to community care.
Faith, Education, and Youth Engagement
Each summer, Rosa Cintron participates in her church’s Kids Bible Summer School. She spends a full week teaching and engaging children in creative, faith‑based activities that encourage learning and connection.
“Whether through teaching, organizing, or simply showing up with love and service, my involvement in church has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life,” said Rosa Cintron.
Leadership and Outreach Across Communities

Many team members contribute their skills to organizations they care about deeply. Our Marketing Director and Marketing Manager volunteer at their Presbyterian Church. Matt supports outreach through video production, while Gordon serves as Vice Moderator of the Presbytery of the Western Reserve, helping guide congregations across the region.
In North Carolina, Attorney and Partner Allison Chan supports both animal welfare and community advocacy. She serves on the Board of the Animal Protection Society of Durham and is also a Board Member of North Carolina Asian Americans Together (NCAAT), where she promotes civic engagement and equity.
Katrina Deal McCall, founder of Walk and Talk About It Ministry, is committed to supporting individuals seeking freedom from domestic violence. Her work focuses on providing hope, healing, and practical support to women and men in need.
Serving Beyond the Office

At our firm, community service extends beyond the workplace. In our Atlanta office, Hee dedicates her time to helping single mothers. She provides meals, transportation, English translation, and personal support.
Attorney and Partner Francis Fungsang focuses on youth education and civic learning. He volunteers with Minds Matter Cleveland, helping students navigate the college application process. He also participates in the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s 3Rs Program, teaching high school students about constitutional rights and civic responsibilities.
Through these efforts, our team continues to demonstrate what service looks like in action. National Volunteer Month serves as a reminder of the impact that compassion, time, and commitment can create—both within our communities and beyond.
