75th Polish Constitution Day Parade

On Sunday afternoon, May 4th, we participated in the 75th Polish Constitution Day Parade that began in Parma Circle and traveled on Ridge Road to Alber Avenue where a party took place nearby in the parking lot of Unity Catholic Federal Credit Union. This parade was hosted by Polish Village and was produced by a collaboration that includes the Polish American Congress, the City of Parma, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, and Polish Village Parma, Inc.

Its purpose is to celebrate the Polish Constitution adopted on May 3rd, 1791 that was inspired by the U.S. Constitution and was the first of its kind in Europe.

Indeed, this parade is very popular with the Parma citizenry some of whom actually immigrated to the United States from Poland/Eastern Europe or were refugees after WWII but, more than likely due to the passage of time, they are the descendants of the international newcomers we to whom we previously referred.

As for ourselves, we volunteered to march in the parade and hand out candy which we very much enjoyed doing.
