Its primary goal is to counter restrictive voting laws recently passed in several states and ensure equal access to the ballot for all U.S. citizens. Key provisions include a required fifteen consecutive days of early voting and safeguards against partisan gerrymandering.

The rally was kicked off by Ms. Lisa Rapazsky, a respected community activist. Featured speakers included former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner, Ms. Yvonka Hall of the Northeast Ohio Black Health Coalition, Lakewood City Councilperson Tristan Rader, former Cleveland City Councilperson Nelson Cintron, and Ms. Morgan Harper, a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2022.
We also heard from newly elected local officials such as Ms. Deborah Gray (Cleveland City Council Ward 4), Dr. Pat Blochowiak (East Cleveland City Council), Mr. Khalil Seren (Mayor of Cleveland Heights), and Cleveland Heights City Council members Josie Moore and Reverend Anthony Mattox, Jr.
Protecting Voting Rights for Immigrants and Minorities
Councilperson Tristan Rader emphasized the importance of protecting voting rights for immigrants who have become U.S. citizens. Former Councilperson Nelson Cintron shared his experience advocating for bilingual ballots to ensure equal access for Spanish-speaking voters.
