Eastern Lake County Chamber Awards Luncheon 2022

On Thursday, January 27th, we attended the Eastern Lake County Chamber Awards Luncheon at Painesville Township Park. This annual event brought together local business leaders, community members, and students to celebrate achievements and foster connections.

It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces after nearly two years. We greeted Mr. Chris Trombley and Mr. Bob Fratino from Deepwood Industries, as well as Mr. David Komjati from KeyBank. We also enjoyed a conversation with Ms. Victoria Southworth, a professional in personnel services, who recalled meeting Ms. [nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] years ago when she spoke at Human Resources Star Conferences about supporting immigrant workers.

Honoring Local Businesses and Community Leaders

The luncheon began with a stirring invocation by Bishop Gerard Mirbel of Miracle Revival Ministry Assemblies of God Church, who honored all faiths. Awards were then presented to outstanding organizations. West Orchards Farm Market, a fifth-generation family business in Perry Township, was named 2022 Business of the Year. The Lake County Free Clinic, now in its 51st year, received the prestigious 2022 Beacon Award for its dedication to community health.

Youth and Future Leaders Shine

We were grateful to Ms. Kelly Donahue, Executive Director of the Eastern Lake County Chamber of Commerce, for accommodating special dietary needs. During lunch, we shared a table with local high school students and members of Torchlight Youth Mentoring Alliance. Among them was Katory Henry-Shaw, an inspiring young man heading to Cornell University on a football scholarship. Already an entrepreneur, he runs “KJ’s Acrylic Designs,” selling his own handcrafted artwork.

Events like the Eastern Lake County Chamber Awards Luncheon remind us of the strength and diversity of our community.
