Margaret W. Wong & Associates’ Response to COVID-19

[nap_names id=”FIRM-NAME-1″] is carefully monitoring the rapidly developing status of and response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States and abroad.

We acknowledge that these are uncertain times. However, we recognize that our work in United States Immigration and Naturalization Law must continue at the same high levels of timeliness, quality, and service that we have always provided to our clients.

With limited exceptions, as of March 13, 2020, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) are continuing to schedule and conduct immigration interviews and immigration court hearings without delay.  Likewise, USCIS and EOIR are continuing to accept and process immigration applications and court motions under their normal guidelines. Therefore, we pledge to remain vigilant and continuously adapt to the circumstances to provide the best possible legal representation to our clients.

Please note the following important updates with regard to COVID-19:

  • We remain fully committed to supporting our clients for upcoming immigration interviews and hearings, and we will be in contact with all clients regarding all necessary preparations as well as address any concerns or questions. If you have an upcoming interview or hearing and are feeling sick or unwell, please contact us immediately so that we can discuss the options in your case as soon as possible.
  • USCIS has notified all applicants that they may reschedule immigration interviews at no penalty if they are feeling unwell; have traveled to a country designated as “level 3” by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) [China, Iran, South Korea, and 26 countries in the European Schengen Area] within 14 days of your appointment; or believe they may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus.
  • We have implemented additional practices and precautions to protect the health and safety of our employees and our clients, effective immediately:
  • In certain office locations, we will reach out to clients and guests to move consultations to telephone or remote conferencing options instead of in-person meetings. We will confirm all appointments in advance.
  • All individuals who wish to reschedule their appointments at our office or change their appointments to telephone or videoconference may contact us to do so.
  • If you are feeling sick or unwell, please do not come to our offices. Instead, please call, email, or text message us so that we promptly can assist you.

The health and safety of our employees and our clients remains our utmost priority. We will continue to provide updates regarding the COVID-19 situation and our work in a timely manner.
